IN GEMOLOGY NEWS:

What is  rarer than a round D-color flawless diamond? The Millennium Star of course!

stone.jpg (5801 bytes) Unveiled in London this past New Year's Eve by De Beers, this rare 203.04 ct, flawless, D-colored diamond is the largest top color, pear-shaped diamond in the world. Along with the Millennium Star, the "Heart of Eternity " a 27.64 ct vivid blue heart-shaped diamond is on display. The Millennium collection boasts ten other exceptionally rare blue diamonds, cut in a variety of shapes that weigh a total 188 carats

.The De Beers Millennium jewels will be on public display in London at a giant exhibition center named The Dome (Millennium Dome) until the end of 2000. If you haven't been to London yet, now maybe a perfect time to visit and view this spectacular display never seen before in the history of diamonds. De Beers is uncertain as to what it will do with the collection after the exhibit and any discussion of value is "academic" since this collection is unprecedented. Can you put a price on these diamonds?
